Editorial and review policy

How MPL turns CMS data into reference pages, distinguishes source checks from human review, and handles corrections.

Last updated: October 24, 2026

Responsibility

Joseph Lipari is the author and operator. He is a licensed insurance agent with seven years of experience as of October 2026. He is responsible for the site's explanations, publication decisions, and correction process. The site is independent of CMS and insurers.

Where the information comes from

Plan records are generated from the coverage-year CMS releases identified on each page. Software transforms those records into readable fields, directories, and comparisons. Automation, including AI-assisted development and drafting, helps prepare the site. A generated page is not evidence that a person individually reviewed every benefit.

Four different kinds of evidence

Data release
The year, release, and snapshot identify the data used. They do not establish that the information is the insurer's latest revision.
Automated validation
Checks cover annual identity, source consistency, missing fields, geography, and display rules. A passing check is not a human benefit review.
Document identity and limited field checks
Where stated, an official document was matched to a plan/year. Any compared fields and date are listed. A match does not validate every term of coverage.
Individual human review
A human reviewer and date are shown only after that person completes the stated review. We do not apply a universal human-reviewed badge to the catalog.

Drafts and publication

New educational drafts remain marked as drafts, excluded from the sitemap, and set to noindex until Joseph reviews their claims, examples, sources, and limitations. Draft preparation dates are separate from approval dates. We do not represent software-assisted drafts as Joseph's completed personal review.

What we preserve

Each record keeps its coverage year and exact CMS segment. Historical benefits are labeled historical. Missing values are not turned into zero, group-plan records do not establish an individual's benefits, and a missing annual code does not identify a successor plan.

Corrections and changes

Send evidence through the contact page. Confirmed material corrections are recorded in the public log. If official sources conflict, the uncertainty is described rather than silently resolved by inference. Coverage and enrollment decisions require the relevant official documents.

Advertising and commercial influence

Display advertising is disabled. If a provider is introduced, ads will be labeled and kept separate from plan facts. Ad placement and revenue do not determine a plan's benefits, its position as a recommendation, or the resolution of a correction. MPL does not rank a best plan or sell enrollment through these tools.
